Historic Hilton Village is located in Newport News, Va, It was created as the nation's first federal government housing project in the nation to provide affordable housing for shipyard workers at the Newport News shipyard in 1918. After the World War I ended, the houses were sold to individuals and no longer were public housing. The village consists of approximately 500 english style houses with slate roof's.  The historical marker is located at the corner of Warwick Blvd. and Main St. in Newport News, Va.
