RODANTHE, N.C.

The Outer Banks house made famous by the 2008 movie "Nights in Rodanthe" arrived at its new site Monday.

On Friday, a crew tried to move the house from the sand of Mirlo Beach to protect it from the surf, but the truck got stuck. The crew wasn't able to make it all the way before running out of time.

On Monday, it took about 20 minutes to finish moving the house, dubbed Serendipity, to its new location, about a mile south of the original spot, said Jim Matyiko, the president of Expert House Movers in Virginia Beach.

"I'm happy, and it's been a real endeavor," he said.
