Six Va. schools make list of the 100 Best Values

Posted to: Education News

Six Virginia schools have made Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's list of the 100 Best Values in Public Colleges for 2009-10.

The University of Virginia is ranked third; the College of William and Mary, fourth; Virginia Tech, 16th; James Madison University, 21st; the University of Mary Washington, 38th; and George Mason University, 64th.

Schools made the list for exemplifying excellent academics while keeping in-state and out-of-state costs to a minimum, a Kiplinger news release stated.

The story will appear in Kiplinger's February issue, which will be on newsstands today and is now online at www.kiplinger.com/reports/best-college-values/.

Next time we hear complaints about tuition costs

The article says that 6 of our Virginia colleges have been deemed "best values." This is great! But I can't help but to remember that around this time last year the media was blasting colleges for costing too much. Now, we have an article stating that colleges in Virginia are "best values."

Now only if people will remember this the next time they begin to complain about tuition costs.

Nice showing Commonwealth public colleges

"The University of Virginia is ranked third; the College of William and Mary, fourth"

Two schools in the top five is a GREAT achievement for any state.

I'm proud to be a Virginian where we have EXCELLENCE as part of our education.

Now if we could just get K-12 on the same track.

Guess list will look different next year

after McDonnell trashes the education budgets

Say What?

Kaine hurt this state more than any other governor ever has, so what in the world are you talking about?

Excellent

Kudos to the state for actually doing something right!!

btw, I have several potholes as big as Barney Frank's ego up my roadway.
Might want to come over and fill it in b4 someone takes a plunge, comes out in China and discovers they like it there better.
