Three ships that typically carry combat loads were being loaded Monday with construction equipment bound for Haiti.
Depending on weather, the crane ship Cornhusker State, the heavy lift ship Cape May and the Military Sealift Command vessel PFC Dewayne T. Williams could be headed to Haiti Tuesday with equipment to help clear the rubble and build temporary piers and causeways to deliver more supplies.
Already, one of the ships is slated to return to Norfolk to pick up additional supplies and make another trip to Haiti, said Lt. John Fairweather, detachment officer in charge of Command Naval Beach Group 2.
“Normally, Hampton Roads doesn’t see these ships,” Fairweather said.
Overall, he said the crews are looking forward to helping with the relief efforts.
“Not one of these people has a problem with going,” he said. “It’s a heartfelt thing.”
Cornhusker State and Cape May are part of the U.S. Maritime Administration's Ready Reserve Force.

where has all of.....
The millions upon millions of dollars that we have given this country in the past ten years gone? I dont mind seeing people donate money to these disaster struck countries but enough is enough. We have enough problems in our own country that need fixing first before we start handing out billions of dollars to other people!
Seems to me like if they want to fight and kill and act like animals then we should pull our aid out and let them settle it themselves!!
If only America could fix
If only America could fix it's problems and come to the aid of it's own country.
