-A sleeper recruit who played one year at Green Run after transferring from a smaller school in North Carolina.

Darryl Brown (6-0, 210, LB) First Colonial High, Virginia Beach
-Brown has good speed and a decent frame to put on weight.

Shawn Butts (6-4, 190, DE) Kellam High, Virginia Beach
-Tall, rangy recruit the Monarchs intend to redshirt and beef up.

Ronnie Cameron (6-3, 295, DT) Hofstra University
-Transferred after Hofstra, where he was a starter, discontinued football. Junior eligibility.

-First-team All-Tidewater on defense as a junior, on offense as a senior.

-Breakaway speed receiver who can win jump balls and should stretch the field for the Monarchs.

Preston Smith (6-3, 240, TE) Deep Creek High, Chesapeake
-Very athletic addition who promises to be more than just a possession receiver.

Antonio Vaughan (5-8, 150, WR) Hertford County High, Hertford, N.C.
-A quick possession-type receiver who should fit well in ODU’s spread offense.
