Beach filmmaker takes award at James River Film fest

RICHMOND

J. Darin Wales of Virginia Beach won the Virginia Filmmaker Award at the James River Film Festival, which took place over the past week in Richmond.

Wales won the award for his short film, “Plink,” which was also an official selection of the 2010 Virginia Independent Film Festival.

“Plink” was among 53 films entered into the Juried Shorts Competition, according to a release. The contest was sponsored by the Virginia Production Alliance and the Virginia Film Office.
