The "Pin-Up Boys of Atlantic Shores" recently presented their calendar proceeds during a special ceremony. The group raised $21,695 by creating a "Nearly Nude" calendar.
Each of the men, adorned in monogrammed robes - with their fellow canine model, "Baxter," a golden retriever - and Atlantic Shores Executive Director Eden Jones presented the net proceeds of their 2010 project to Jennifer Chassee and Chris Clements of the Princess Anne Courthouse Volunteer Rescue Squad.
"Princess Anne Rescue Squad serves us. They come to Atlantic Shores, and we wanted to find some way to reciprocate," said Betty Brown, committee chair. The idea was conceived by the late Don Reinhart.
One of the squad's recent calls was to Atlantic Shores resident and "Pin-Up Boy" Joe Manzo, who presented the check to his life-saver, Clements. A rose on the podium honored the life of George Traskowsky, "Mr. February," who recently died.
The "Pin-Up Boys" autographed copies of the calendar and greeted fans.
"You couldn't find a nicer group of men to work with," Brown said.
