Drivers on roads in Dare County, N.C. will now be able to check out road conditions online before leaving the house.
Accurate, up-to-date information on ocean overwash, soundside flooding, traffic accidents, ice and snow hazards, temporary road closures and fire scenes on streets and highways in the county is available 24 hours a day on the county's main Web page here, according to a press release from the Dare County Sheriff's Office.
Dare County encompasses the Outer Banks towns of Duck, Southern Shores, Kitty Hawk, Kill Devil HIlls, Nags Head and Manteo, as well as unincorporated areas on Hatteras Island, Colington Island and mainland Dare villages East Lake, Manns Harbor, Stumpy Point and Mashoes.
