Complaint filed over Dendron plant's approval

Posted to: Environment News

Court papers were filed Tuesday aiming to void a vote that approved construction of the state's largest coal-fired energy plant in the town of Dendron in Surry County.

The complaint, filed on behalf of a faction of local landowners against the town and Old Dominion Electric Cooperative, says the Town Council did not give proper notice of its intentions to vote on the project at its February meeting. The town and ODEC have 21 days to respond.
