Information about road conditions in Dare County, N.C., has been added to its Web site, allowing drivers to check on hazards before leaving home.
Telecommunications workers at Dare Central Communications 911 Center will enter current road conditions for any street or highway in the county to alert the public 24 hours a day, according to a news release from the Dare County Sheriff's Office.
Emergency service workers in the county will also be able to direct information to be posted on such conditions as ocean overwash, soundside flooding, traffic accidents, ice and snow hazards, temporary road closures and fire scenes.
