Duke eases away in ACC

Duke scored a season-low 57 points against U.Va. – and yet won by 11, 57-46. This deduces into the Cavs posting 19 points in the second half on an afternoon of bricklaying (32 percent shooting) that produced their lowest total of the season as well. The ugly truth: U.Va. scored no field goals and only two points – and those in the final minute – in the last six minutes after getting to within 46-44.

Duke’s Kyle Singler put in 10 straight points early in the second quarter to pull the Blue Devils away from a 27-27 halftime tie. And John Scheyer finally heated up midway through the quarter, stringing together three nice baskets off the dribble to help Duke cruise along to the semifinals.

And now, Virginia Tech is in a tussle with 12th-seeded Miami. The No. 4 Hokies spent the first nine minutes building a 10-point lead, but the Hurricanes closed the first half hard and trail only 37-35. It's 48-46 Tech with 13minutes to go. A 15-point effort so far for guard Dorenzo Hudson.
