Obama's Folly Should Fail to Pass

Obama's Health Care Plan is far too flawed; it will break our bank; it will curtail our choices; it will foster additional waste and graft in government; it will cause our individual costs to soar; it will diminish our health care availability and quality; it will be a disaster if it passes.

And those are its good qualities.

We do need to upgrade our manner of providing health care, and lower our costs.  But this rushed way of pushing his greatly flawed plan is too much like the way a used car salesman tries to foist a lemon on an unwary buyer.  Don't go for it.

HEALTH CARE REFORM, MY A**

Oh, c'mon people. This was never about reforming or improving health care. If it were, then common sense would have dictated that the ridiculous prohibition on selling insurance across state line would have been lifted to obtain REAL competition. If it were, sensible tort reform would have been implemented to bring down astronomical malpractice insurance premiums. It was always about creating the framework by which to implement the Progressive agenda to gain and maintain centralized government control over every aspect of your life. And now, they have it. They have given you a bagful of candy, and you are really happy. And even if you throw them all out of office in November, you won't want to give the candy back, will you?

Oh, c'mon, Dave.

"It was always about creating the framework by which to implement the Progressive agenda to gain and maintain centralized government control over every aspect of your life."

You need to stop watching all those conspiracy theory, si-fi's. Take the tinfoil off your head - you're starting to sound goofy.

A Typical Saul Alinsky "Rules for Radicals" Reply

I see that you could not manage even a half-hearted rebuttal of my idea. As Saul has taught you well, you must attack, isolate, and demonize the person ... but never risk a rational discussion, lest you risk being exposed for what you are. The good news is that you HAVE been exposed, and we are not fooled by you any more.

If you can convince me that Obamacare will increase competition, lower prices, and increase access ... then feel free to reply. We can debate in the public forum.

If you feel that 219 Democrats know better than I what is good for me ... if you feel that 219 Democrats know better than an overwhelming majority of Americans what is good for them ... then feel free to reply. We can debate in the public forum.

I don't think it's at all 'rushed' . . .

We've been listening to debates for over a year, now. It's time to **** or get off the pot as the saying goes. Sure, this bill has flaws - don't they all to some degree? But, this health care thing has been left too long with no one having the guts to do anything about it. This President has taken it on AS HE SAID HE WOULD while campaigning.

As for the Republicans, if they had so many great ideas, why didn't they ever have the brass to stand up for them and shout them from the rooftops in all the years they had the White House and/or Congress.

So, Archie, I agree - it may be flawed in many aspects, but it's finally a start, and from a guy who at least had the you-know-whats to try to get his arms around a massive mess of bureaucracy, and improve it.

Not Viable . . .

Would you recommend shooting out a cancer using a shotgun? It would get rid of the cancer, but . . .

Doing something just to do something is never a rational way to solve a problem. A do all bill as this one claims to be will not solve our problems; unusually do all bills really do nothing.

A far better thing to do would be to attack each aspect of health care problems separately, and without the hidden trapdoors, enormous costs, and dangerous healthcare policies that this bill ensures.

A shotgun for a cancer? Ouch!

No, I don't think a shotgun to shoot out a cancer is a good thing. Although, I have friends and relatives who would gladly have taken that route if it had been offered. (Cancers involving the brain immediately come to mind since I've lost a relative and friend to that specific type cancer recently.)

But, that's beside the point - I know you were making a valid point.

Maybe, though, it does take something of this magnitude to get us on the right track. Just maybe this bill, if enacted, will get minds focused on fixing what's wrong with THIS BILL, since we can't seem to get all the people on board with what is the best way to get an initial bill passed. I mean, really - nothing in Washington is forever. Hasn't the GOP already said they'll run on repealing this bill? OK. Let them do it, and in the process they will have to find better options, but . . .

. . . at least we'll be working on getting a better health care program in place; which is something that did not occur after the failed Clinton attempt.

Would Agree with You IFF . . .

Would agree with you if and only if the cost were not so high and the results of passing it so draconian.

I really do not trust the Republicans, either. We need to tell Congress to sink this one into the unknown abyss of damned bills, and then demand that they fix the things that are wrong today, one item at a time, and with no strings attached, no favoritism, and no health care industry/pharmaceutical influences. Just demand they do what is good for "we, the people." And not with such horrendous influences on our deficit. We are going broke, fast, and this bill will hurry things along to bankruptcy.

Archie

It is time for you to go. You have recently exposed yourself as a gun nut and now an anti-Obamite. If we want enlightenment we can always listen to the rants of Limbaugh and Beck.

You have absolutely no idea what's in the health care plan except what the obstructionists have told you. You haven't read it yet you feel free to comment on it.

You remind me of an old saw:

"What is the difference between ignorance and arrogance?

I don't know and I don't care."

Good grief, Martin . . .

Please don't compare Archie to Beck and Limbaugh. No way, no how. Archie's reasonable, although I don't always agree with him. He's definitely not from the Rush/Glenn hooplehead brigade.

Thank you . . .

I cannot stand either of those two, nor any other national talk show host that I can think of. In fact, I never listen to or watch any of them.
