Real estate brokers going bald for ill co-worker

Don't be surprised if you see about a bunch of executives from S.L. Nusbaum Realty Co. sporting shiny bald heads in the coming weeks.

In a show of support for a fellow commercial real estate broker who just started a battle against cancer, the real estate executives (some of them already follicly challenged) will shave their heads next month. They are encouraging others to do the same and donate money to the Relay for Life campaign, a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society.

The executives are calling themselves "Team Warlick" for S.L. Nusbaum Senior Vice President Mark Warlick, who was diagnosed in January with lung cancer. They hope to raise $25,000.

At 5 p.m. April 7, professional haircutters will shave the dozen or so executives in their office, said Miles Leon, S.L. Nusbaum's president.

Warlick, a nonsmoker, is blogging about his experience at CaringBridge.org as he undergoes treatment.

The real estate Los Angeles brokers helped this cause and the money that they have donated may help some people and the message for the others to do the same was very powerful .

I have known Mark Warlick professionally for many years. He is a man of integrity, honesty, and professionalism. As a local real estate appraiser I have found him to be helpful and respectful. I'm sorry for his current medical situation and wish him the very best during his treatment and recovery. Denise

I don't know Warlick but I am familiar with S.L. Nusbaum. They have always been a first class organization and this proves it once again. It also shows the love & respect they must have for their colleague. Their act is a tribute to both.
