VIRGINIA BEACH

Three days after police put out information on a man wanted in the robbery of two missionaries, they’ve made an arrest.

On Monday, police arrested Jason Edward Chapman II, a 25-year-old who lives in the 5300 block of Susquehanna Road, and charged him with two counts of robbery.

Police put out information on Chapman on Friday, requesting the public’s help in finding him. After receiving tips and gathering information, members of the police department’s Marine Unit, Warrant/Fugitive Squad and 3rd Precinct patrol squad arrested him at about 3 p.m. at a trailer park in the 1200 block of Baker Road, said Officer Margie Hobbs, a police spokeswoman.

Chapman is accused of taking a cell phone, backpacks and wallets from two missionaries who were riding their bicycles in the 5300 block of Susquehanna Drive the morning of Feb. 25, Hobbs said. The victims reported that they were robbed by a man with a knife when they stopped to check a map, police said.
