All Virginia rest areas back in business

Posted to: News Traffic - Transportation Virginia

RICHMOND

All Virginia highway rest areas that were closed last year due to funding cuts have been reopened.

Gov. Bob McDonnell says the final seven rest areas were back in business Wednesday.

McDonnell's predecessor, Timothy M. Kaine, ordered 19 rest areas and welcome centers closed last July, but McDonnell reversed that and hoped all would reopen by April 15.

McDonnell said reopening the facilities was important to tourism and economic development.

Privatized?

So, as per the good governor's campaign promise, are the rest areas nopw privatized? Or is money which could be better used for repairing our roads or educating our children being spent?

That's what I thought. Another broken promise.

good for timmy

So now when little timmy tries to promote his losing democrat agenda back in Virginia, he can stop in a rest area and do there when he spent years doing to Virginians.

yeah, mcd finally created jobs
