Boil water order lifted for Chesapeake customers after main break

CHESAPEAKE

The boil-water order has been lifted for Western Branch neighborhoods that lost water after a main break late last week, according to the city.

The city has tested the water, and the bacteriological quality is safe, a news release says. Residents may notice air in the lines and some sediment in the water, but they can remove it by running the cold taps for a short period.

The 20-inch main broke on Friday at Jolliff Road and Quivers Keep.

David’s Mill, Jolliff Woods, Willow Lakes and Goose Creek residents were without water during the day and were told to boil their water before use during the weekend.

Customers along Old Dock Landing Road and on Jolliff Road to Quivers Keep also were affected.

Customers can call (757) 382-3585 for more information.
