Everybody make way for the circus!
The Ringling Bros. animals are scheduled to parade through the streets of Norfolk at about 7 p.m. this evening. Due to the nature of train travel, an exact time of the animal's arrival cannot be given until later in the day.
The animal walk will start at the rail yard to Redgate Ave., head eastbound to Colley Ave., right onto Olney Rd., eastbound to Monticello Ave., right on Monticello and southbound to the Scope loading dock.
The circus is in town to perform Barnum's FUNundrum! at the Norfolk Scope April 15-18. The show features 130 performers from six continents and celebrates the 200th anniversary of the birth of P.T. Barnum.
The circus will also be at the Hampton Coliseum April 21-25.

You'll see dead elephants walking
at Ringling's parade. The elephants eyes are blank and empty from all the years of being abused and forced to perform in hundreds of shows. There is an educational and factual video documentary recently posted on You Tube called, "Man and Elephant: A Litany of Tragedy." Part 2 of 7 covers the care and treatment of captive elephants in the United States. You will see Ringling’s elephant trainers and others in action.

"Due to the nature of train travel, an exact time of the animal's arrival cannot be given until later in the day."
Imagine a flatbed rail car with stranded elephants on it sitting idle in downtown traffic.
judging by the comments today
the interns at PETA have been given some "busy work" for the afternoon. I'm glad I'm not paying their salaries.
Actually, Chris, we are all
Actually, Chris, we are all paying their salaries as a subsidized 501(c)(3) "non-profit" organization.
