Boys lacrosse

Cape Henry 7, Bishop Sullivan 5

Visiting Cape Henry erased a 3-1 deficit and built a 5-3 halftime lead that it maintained in boosting its Tidewater Conference record to 3-1 on Tuesday.

Season leading scorer Colin Corcoran, Garrett Kelly and Garrett Deming scored two goals apiece for the Dolphins (5-8). Corcoran, a junior, has 26 goals. John Everett gave the Dolphins momentum, winning 15 of 16 faceoffs in addition to scoring a goal. Goalie Will Overman had 14 saves.

“We maintained our composure and were able to shut down Bishop Sullivan’s early success in the transition game,” Cape Henry coach Charlie Lonergan said. “It’s a key win and gets us back on track for our next match against Hampton Roads Academy.”

Bishop Sullivan fell to 2-2 in the conference and 8-4 overall.
