KILL DEVIL HILLS
Police are warning Outer Banks merchants to be on the lookout for fake $100 bills that started showing up in banks on Friday.
A total of six of the counterfeit bills have been passed at Kill Devil Hills businesses, said Kill Devil Hills Police Det. Kevin Moye. Of those, he said, two were discovered today.
One bill each was used to pay at Belk, Walgreens and Bob's Grill in Kill Devil Hills, Moye said, and three were used at KMart.
Additional counterfeit bills have also been used in Nags Head, Moye said.
The bills have been either photocopied or washed, which removes the original ink on smaller denomination bills --- in this instance, a $5 bill, according to a news release from the Kill Devil Hills Police Department. The security strip inside the washed bill that shows the original denomination and the bill's hologram are not affected by the washing process, the statement said.
Police are seeking three individuals identified passing the bills. Merchants are encouraged to examine all bills, especially large denomination bills, and immediately report suspicious bills to Kill Devil Hills police at (252) 449-5337.

The federal reserve printed
The federal reserve printed 1.2-1.3 trillion dollars to buy bad loans off the books of banks, and that's cool. When a guy on the bottom prints a couple a hundreds to get buy, police are on the lookout.
