Posted to: News North Carolina

NAGS HEAD

Dominion Resources, the parent company of Dominion North Carolina Power, today donated $500,000 to fund alternative energy demonstrations at Jennette's Pier, a North Carolina Aquariums project under construction in Nags Head.

The donation will be used for wind turbines, fuel cells and solar panels that will be installed at the planned 1,000-foot concrete and wood pier and two-story pierhouse, according to a news release from the North Carolina Aquarium Society.

The $25 million project is expected to be completed in early 2011. It will be operated by the state aquarium on Roanoke Island.

Interesting...

It is very interesting that the company has hundreds of thousands of dollars to give away, yet they continue to raise the rates! Don't get me wrong, this will be a grate help to that community, but I am tired of the continuous rate increases called "Fuel Rate Adjustments"

Not to mention their corporate jets, hundreds of thousands of dollars for corporate salaries, etc
