Fast facts Maury beat Norview 2-1 on Wednesday night in a playoff for the No. 1 seed and an automatic Eastern Region berth. Granby has lost three of its past five games, but the Comets shut out Lake Taylor in two regular-season meetings and feature ODU commit Louis Singleton (5-3, 1.12 ERA). Eastern District tournament

Semifinals at Churchland High Today – No. 4 seed Maury (10-5) vs No. 1 seed Churchland (13-2), 3:30 p.m.; No. 2 seed Wilson (12-2) vs. No. 3 seed Granby (11-6), 5:30 p.m.

Championship May 26, 5 p.m. at Churchland High

Fast facts Wilson and pitcher Kelsey Brown are the tournament’s hottest entry, riding a 12-game winning streak. The Presidents will miss the potent bat of Emily Barrix, who suffered a broken ankle in a recent win over Churchland. They still have punch with Ashley Barrix, Brittany Davis and Brown. Churchland relies on pitcher Kaytlynn Heroux (13-2) and heavy-hitting catcher Casey Lifsey. Granby, led by pitcher Clara Quinones, can’t be taken lightly.
