Semifinals at ODU Wednesday - Granby-Menchville winner vs. Cox-Oscar Smith winner, 5:30 p.m.; Great Bridge-Princess Anne winner vs. Kecoughtan-Maury winner, 7:30 p.m.
Championship Thursday at Powhatan Field, 7:30 p.m.
Fast facts Cox is the defending region champion and a definitive favorite to repeat. Senior Ryan Oakes anchors the defense, which has allowed just seven goals this season. On offense, the trio of Eric Bird, Hunter Byrnes and Drew Hartell combined for 33 goals, and four others have at least four or more goals. In the bottom half of the bracket, Will Cason had 17 of Great Bridge's 47 goals, while Trevor Nichols notched 13 of Princess Anne's 41, so the outcome will depend on which team better supports its target man. Kecoughtan will have to keep up with Maury's offense, powered by Iyke Etonyeaku (20 goals), Tyler Ferring (15) and Ryan Lee (10).

Quarterfinals at Powhatan Field Today - Peninsula District I Menchville (9-5-2) vs. Eastern District II Granby (9-7-2), 2 p.m.; Beach District I Cox (17-1-1) vs. Southeastern District II Great Bridge (10-5-3), 4 p.m.; Southeastern District I Grassfield (14-3-1) vs. Beach District II Ocean Lakes (14-2-3), 6 p.m.; Eastern District I Maury (12-6) vs. Peninsula District II Kecoughtan (10-7-1), 8 p.m.
Semifinals at Powhatan Field Wednesday - Granby-Menchville winner vs. Cox-Great Bridge winner, 5:30 p.m.; Grassfield-Ocean Lakes winner vs. Kecoughtan-Maury winner, 7:30 p.m.
Championship Thursday at Powhatan Field, 5:30 p.m.
Fast facts Defending champion Cox shut out 14 of 19 opponents and allowed just seven goals, so playmaker Tara Kerns could have a tough time orchestrating the Great Bridge attack. The Falcons have double-digit goal-scorers in Jessie Klamut (13) and Brittany Krause (10) and recently welcomed back Emory Camper from a knee injury. In the other half of the bracket is Ocean Lakes - the only team to beat Cox this season. Kayla White scored 14 goals to fuel an offense that totaled 54. Grassfield, though, could stymie an all-Beach District showing in the state tournament field. The Grizzlies are solid in attack - Samantha Phillips and Lexi Jones combined for 23 goals - and at the back: sweeper Hannah Carlson and keeper Caroline Casey spearheaded a defense that allowed 11 goals and blanked 11 opponents. Maury senior forward Mary Morgan tallied 46 goals to lead the region - more than twice the amount of No. 2 scorer Anna Davis (19) of Granby.
