A 37-year-old Virginia Beach man died in a motorcycle crash in the 500 block of London Bridge Road Sunday night.
Andrew Markowitz was riding south on London Bridge Road at a high rate of speed about 7 p.m. when a Lincoln Town Car made a left from Bowland Parkway onto London Bridge, said Wayne Gilbert, a Virginia Beach police spokesman. Markowitz struck the left rear of the car and was ejected from his motorcycle. He died at the scene.
The Lincoln Town Car driver, John A. Smith, 62, of Virginia Beach was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Gilbert said. Smith was charged with driving under the influence.
