Coast-to-coast motorcycle ride to honor fallen SEAL

Posted to: Military Virginia Beach

A coast-to-coast motorcycle memorial ride in honor of Navy SEAL Lance Vaccaro will leave from Fresh Tapas and Tonics, 2129 General Booth Blvd. in Virginia Beach, at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Vaccaro, who was based in Virginia Beach, died in 2008 after a parachute training accident in Arizona.

Five motorcyclists and a support team will ride to Seward, Alaska, and back, with stops along the way.

Riders will meet with veterans and family and friends of fallen troops. Gear will be sold along the route with proceeds benefiting the SEAL-Naval Special Warfare Foundation. The riders are scheduled to return home at 4 p.m. July 17 to the same restaurant, according to a news release.

To donate, visit www.nswfoundation.org or write to SEAL-NSW Foundation, P.O. Box 5965, Virginia Beach, VA 23471.
