Pet peeves in the workplace

Posted to: Business Jobs

So what's the top peeve in the workplace?

If you thought mean bosses, try again. That's not even on the list in a survey of 1,037 U.S. workers by Randstad, a staffing firm based in Atlanta.

Strong smells? You're a little warmer. That was No. 5.

The most popular complaint was "people with poor time-management skills." The most common sub-complaint in this category: "People who take excessive breaks."

Second on the gripe list was gossip, which fell from No. 1 in 2007, the last time Randstad conducted the survey. Messy cubicles was No. 3, and loud noises No. 4.

Pet Peeves

I guess my #1 pet peeve would be when my supervisor, old Ms.Wenchfeld comes into my cubicle and drops her studded leather belt on my lap with a wink, signaling my monthly "overtime & discipline" requirement.
Darn, and I had tickets to go to the Verizon Ampitheatre tonight.
Well a job is a job....
{Sigh}.

Cell phones and Breaks

I worked in a cubical setting, with outside salespeople coming through, talking at the top of their lungs like we didn't exsist. Hello; we are working, on our own phones with customers, your not the ony one doing something! Plus just walking into my cubicle, and just start talking; it's still an office, please wait for me to acknowlege you first. Also Breakes, I workded at place where smokers kept taking smoke breaks all day. So one day I took 1 extra break to eat some chips in the smoking area, my supervisor came over and said "is this your break time"? "No" I said. But I added a comment about the smokers taking extra breaks all the time, so whats the difference. That was not well received, but very true. I should have said smoking habits are accepted, I have an eating habit.
