The board of the Hampton Roads Tea Party probably won't endorse anyone in the 2nd Congressional District's November election, the group's leader, Karen Miner Hurd, said Wednesday.
One day after the Tea Party board's endorsed choice, Ben Loyola, was defeated in the district's Republican primary by car dealer Scott Rigell, Hurd said the group may organize a candidate forum but she "seriously doubts" it will endorse anyone.
Rigell and the incumbent, U.S. Rep. Glenn Nye, a
Virginia Beach Democrat, have been criticized by the Tea Party, which wants to drastically cut government services, regulations and taxes.
A third candidate in the fall race is independent Kenny Golden, a former GOP leader in Virginia Beach.

TP is getting trash talked by the gop slime machine. You know gop is weary of them especially if they support independents.
A wake up call
The Tea Partiers got a wake up call Tuesday. They learned they aren't as powerful as they thought they were. I agree with a previous poster: they need to divorce themselves from their corporate masters, their ridiculous Chicken-Little fears of socialism and get back to their core purpose: getting government to cut back on spending and then cut taxes. Then and only then will they stand a chance at being taken seriously by other voters so they can win a majority.
maybe thelma drake
Maybe Thelma Drake will be Rigell's campgain manager. Then she could get George Bush to tell her what to do.
WOW! Gertz was locked and
WOW! Gertz was locked and loaded when she fired that shot! Impressive. For me I'll take Thelma Drake any day of the week over Nazi Pelosi.
Wow! Keith
Nazi Pelosi? I mean really NAZI? Gees, that goes back to J. Edgar Hoover days where everyone was a Nazi/Communist. Interesting you can't come up with anything better than name-calling.
Republicans are national
Republicans are national socialists and Democrats are one-world communists. Why hasn't everybody caught on to this by now?

Interesting response from
Interesting response from someone who likes to call people bigots. Sounds communist to me. Anyhow Gertz, I call them like I see them. That is why I continue to pray for the health and well being of President Obama and VP Biden. I would shutter to think of that woman being president. She is third in line ya know.
Misguided Principles
Scott Rigell showed us how he will vote on budget and spending by his accepting the cash for clunkers money. He will never turn down federal money! If he really believed that federal money is the people's money then he never would have accepted the cash for clunker money and would have made business adjustments to keep his employees at work. Unfortunately he took the path of least resistance.
Cash for Clunkers
I don't think that Rigell is the Conservative that he claims to be, but I will defend him in regards to his participation in Cash for Clunkers. Yes, I agree that the program was ridiculous and a huge waste of tax dollars, but Rigell really had no choice but to participate in the program. If he refused to participate, then his customers would have taken their business elsewhere, and his business and his employees would have suffered from the consequences. Now I don't know what his personal feelings were towards the program, but as a businessman it makes perfect sense that he participated. Last week I heard an interview with Rigell on the radio and he was asked a very simple question, "Do you think that Social Security and Medicare are unconstitutional?" He would not answer the question. Instead he talked his way around it and changed the subject. A real and true conservative would answer that question immediately with a YES. Regardless, I was hoping that Mizusawa or Loyola would win the primary, so now that Rigell has won it seems that we voters are left with the same option that we are used to... voting for the lesser of two evils.
