Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli's challenge to the federal government's conclusion that greenhouse gases are dangerous to people has failed on the regulatory front but remains alive in court.
The Environmental Protection Agency on Thursday rejected 10 petitions for reconsideration of its finding that carbon dioxide and other emissions contribute to dangerous global warming. One of those petitions was filed by Cuccinelli.
He also has asked a federal appeals court to review EPA's findings. He said it is likely to find that EPA considered new data without notice or public comment.

One Question
I just have one question for the followers of Gore. What do all the trees and plants do when the EPA stops all CO2 emissions what will they breath in and turn into oxyegen for us to breath?
Not a Gore Follower
The simple answer is: The plants and trees do whatever they did before the industrial age. For a more complex answer, google "Carbon Cycle."
I wonder if the zealots see how they look
Whatever you responded to earlier was not near what was said. I said that the National Science Board (accepted as the consensus of the time) was predicting a global cooling using the existing data that is being used today. The scientist then had no clue of effects of man on a climatological scale. The scientist today really have no clue of the effects of man on a climatological scale. They are using essentially the same data the National Science Board used.
The dismal attitude shown to anyone who questions man made global warming (that had to be changed to climate change because of the failure to meet global warming) by the fanatics is akin to the Spanish Inquisition and branding of heretics.
What is not seen by the zealots is that there is not a consensus of absolution. What is not seen by the zealots are the gaps in the science - that are simple to see: temperature sensors located at man made hot spots, raw data and assumptions kept secret, changing terms, etc.
Challenged?
The NSB never predicted global cooling and there was never a consensus among scientists that it is so (http://ams.confex.com/ams/pdfpapers/131047.pdf). Because I have provided a link to the source document with the specific citation (page 55), your continued denial of the facts is truly puzzling. Scientists today indeed not only have a better understanding of the forcings and feedbacks involved in global warming than in the 1970s, they also have the data to prove it. And comparing scientific evidence to the dogma of the Catholic Church is a ludicrous as your assertion about the "the gaps in the science." Nobody denies that there is incomplete knowledge, but that does not confer upon us a freedom to ignore the knowledge we already have, or to postpone the action that it appears to demand at a given time.

Here is the link to the petitions from Virginia and others that were the subject of this article. There are links to the infamous East Anglia climate study as well as all of the other research on the subject, an extensive bibliography, and a discussion of the 2007 Supreme Court decision and EPA rulemaking that generated the controversy. I'm challenging all of you skeptics to read this material and reach your conclusions based on your own evaluation of the evidence. There'll be a quiz on Monday.
If you're gonna play
OK..now everybody join in..."If you're gonna play in Texas, ya gotta have a fiddle in the band" and yada yada yada. If you're gonna live in most parts of Virginia, ya gotta ignore scientific evidence and be an obstructionist to anything that doesn't further the ultra-conservative Christian agenda of your governor and his court. Symbolically (such a big word for this blog), Cucinelli is you folk's fiddle, and he's playing a very poorly written tune. It's a long time til November 2013...hope Virginia will not be legislated back into the 1950's.
50's?
I can smell the kahki right now. Sdougen, chill out. There were no bigoted personal attacks. I think it is refreshing to add a little humor. Sarcastic or not. These posts get too out of control anyway sometimes.
Who are the other 9?
There were 9 other mis-guided petitioners probably wasting tax payer money. I wonder who they are? It is very sad to have leaders who ignore scientific data and only operate on their own opinions and beliefs. If Cuccini has data disproving climate change, CO2 being harmful, or any thing else let him produce it and we can have a logical discussion. The only thing I ever saw from him was questioning some emails that were sent in private. Cuccini attacked the existing climate change data with fear and lies NOT with new scientific data.
Show me the Data!
Data
In 2007, the Supreme Court ruled that carbon dioxide is in fact an air pollutant along with other gasses as difined by the Clean Air Act.
The key point for you dittoheads
is the year: 2007. This was the Bush-era EPA seeking to regulate CO2 emissions, not some Islamofascist, socialist, communist plot to take over our lives and march us inexorably toward a Soviet-like dictatorship.
