Lonnie Blow comes aboard
ODU has filled its assistant coaching vacancy with someone who won't need a GPS to find his way around the area: veteran coach Lonnie Blow, whose ties to the 757 run deep.
Blow coached under Jack Baker for 11 years at Maury, led Granby to a state title a decade ago, and served as an assistant at Norfolk State and Hampton. Most recently, he led Division II St. Augustine's to a 27-5 record in his second year in Raleigh. The Falcons also compiled the highest GPA in the CIAA.

Meanwhile, Monarch fans, feel free to weigh in on Blaine Taylor's choice.

Lonnie Blow
I remember watching Lonnie play at Frederick Military Acad. Good person then and a great coach now.
Way to go ODU!
Welcome back Lonnie Blow
I think this is a great addition to the staff. While I don't pretend to follow ODU other than to see if they win or lose, which local players they sign and an game every now and then. I did enjoy watching Lonnie Blow's Granby Comets a while back when my daughter was on the girls team and I loved the defense first, be good people, good students he made them be.
Welcome back to the area, coach.
