Norfolk to offer heat relief this weekend

NORFOLK

According to a news release, the following facilities in the city will be open to people seeking relief from the heat this weekend:

-All libraries will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday.

-Norfolk Main Library and Pretlow Anchor Branch Library will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

-Lamberts Point and Norview Community centers will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

-Freemason Street Baptist Church at 400 E. Freemason St. in downtown will be open from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

-New Covenant Outreach at 5335 E. Virginia Beach Blvd. will be open from noon to 4 pm. Saturday.

-Second Calvary Baptist Church on 2940 Corprew Ave. will be open from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday.

-Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church at 288 E. Little Creek Road in Wards Corner will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday.

-The Salvation Army at 203 W. 19th St. will be open throughout the day Saturday and Sunday.
