Senator: 6,600 graves at Arlington could be wrong

WASHINGTON

A Senate Democrat says that as many as 6,600 graves at Arlington National Cemetery could be misidentified because managers there didn't do their job properly.

Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., spoke at a hearing today, where the cemetery's former superintendent and deputy superintendent were scheduled to testify.

McCaskill says she believes that between 4,900 and 6,600 graves may be unmarked or mislabeled on cemetery maps.

The estimate far exceeds one given by Army investigators last month that some 211 remains could be affected by the graves scandal.

Which is why

My last request is for cremation and scattering at sea. If my family wishes to "visit" me, I will be no farther than the nearest ocean. Simpler all the way around!

Too much grief

Too much over too little. We'll never see the dead again so burial is permanent. Let the dead stay as they are and turn the emotional screams down because this will really get to be expensive. Fire the people involved and end it. Save it for the living, not the dead.

You can't mislabel a grave which doesn't exist.

If the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq are truly essential to the security of the United States of America and if prosecuting these wars is essential to liberty and freedom here in the United States of America, then there should be a no deferral draft which applies to all citizens of military age, regardless of economic position, and each citizen should do their part in keeping the nation safe.
Problem with that though, is that support for the wars would come to a screeching halt, once the war had the potential to affect all American families. These ill planned, ill prosecuted, and needless wars continue without end because they affect so few Americans. They turn on CNN and
Faux News, read about the death tolls and then tune in to American Idol. The wars have no real effect on the vast majority of Americans because they have no human stake involved(sons, daughters, friends, etc.). Want the war to end? Write your congressman and senator and demand that they reinstate the draft. Watch the chickenhawk patriotism disolve.

I am so glad the government

I am so glad the government is now going to be in charge of health care! Finally someone who can handle the job has taken the reins.

That is so sad. These

That is so sad. These people gave their all for this country, the lest this country can do is to properly label their graves.
