Directions Take I-64 West to Exit 265B for Armistead Ave. Go straight across West Mercury Blvd. and turn right at the Armistead Pointe Park sign into the Boo Williams Complex parking lot.
South Hampton Roads players All-Tidewater setter Rachel Smith of Cox and middle Caroline Ford of Kellam are on the East roster.
Other players of note The West squad boasts setter Nicole Bennett and middle Lindsey Phipps from Group AAA state champion Loudoun Valley as well as opposite Lindsey Burke and outside hitter Brittany Simpson from Group A champ Gate City. The East is bolstered by outside hitter Emily Vandergrift, who helped Loudoun County to the Group AA title.

Where Captains Field at Christopher Newport University
Directions Take I-64 West to Exit 258A. Follow J. Clyde Morris Blvd. and continue straight across Warwick Blvd. The street becomes Avenue of the Arts. Turn right into the University. Captains Field is next to the football stadium.
South Hampton Roads players The East team is loaded with eight South Hampton Roads players: Cox’s Hayley Cook, First Colonial’s Brittany Beaty, Kellam’s Caitlyn Burtch, Kempsville’s Allie Boubouheropoulos, Whitney Miles and Rachel Wallace, Ocean Lakes’ Desiree Carson and Kayla White. Also, Kempsville’s Lauren Tucei is one of the coaches on the East team.
Other players of note Cosby’s Becca Wann, headed to Richmond to play basketball and soccer, is on the East squad. Robinson’s Audrey Barry and Ali Heck, both William and Mary signees, are on the West team.

South Hampton Roads players Two players that made large impacts with limited notoriety will get a chance to play for the East. Both are defensive midfielders. Cox’s Trey Saunders, who will play at Virginia and scored the first goals of his career during Cox’s state tournament run, joins Ocean Lakes’ Jeremy Robinson, who moved up from sweeper to score three goals and add four assists in Beach District play. Cox coach Scott Mead will be part of the coaching staff.
Other player of note Matoaca midfielder/forward Mason Page – on the East squad – will play next season at Old Dominion. He’s joined by Broad Run’s Danny Reategui (Johns Hopkins). Stone Bridge’s Abdul Shaban (George Washington) is on the West team.

ITs all about the money
The all star games are exciting when you read about them but when you realize the kids have to pay to play in these games it kind of tarnishes the value.
The best kids in the state are not playing in all these games, some are in college already taking summer classes, some are on summer travel teams and playing better competition then this offers, some just dont want to have to pay a couple hundred dollars just to play one game.
Not sure where the money goes but if you check with Mike Smith at Hampton HS you might find the answer.
