Norfolk identifies no-show employee, mum on pay

NORFOLK

City officials have identified the Community Services Board employee who collected a salary with benefits for 12 years without spending a day at work.

City Attorney Bernard A. Pishko said Friday that the employee is Jill McGlone.

"Jill is the person who wrongfully received the payments," Pishko said.

Pishko said the executive director of the Community Services Board, Maureen Womack, is "just about finished" with an investigation on the matter.

When that investigation wraps up, Norfolk police will receive the case, Pishko said.

City Council members said McGlone collected a salary with benefits for 12 years and never showed up for work.

Womack asked Pishko to investigate the issue earlier this summer.

Another Community Services Board staffer, a supervisor, is being investigated over alleged complicity.

Pishko said he couldn't identify that staffer.

He said Womack is trying to determine whether anybody else was involved in the matter.

The Community Services Board is an independent agency that receives federal, state and city funding.

Its governing board is appointed by the City Council.

In a call to her home, McGlone declined to comment.

"I cannot answer any questions; I'm so sorry," she said. "I wish I could."

Hope they keep better track of their patients! Me thinks not!

Their inability to self-manage their employees shows their inability to manage their patients.

I would not be surprised..

if there are more such 'employees' at both the local and state levels who do the same thing. I said in an earlier post on another thread about this that there had to be more than one person involved here to make this possible. It appears that I was right, per the article..

Not the Only One

She is not the only city employee who get paid for nothing. check out city council!

No Show Employee

I note that she got continuous raises. Probably good evaluatioins too. Howver, in these economic times, I would suggest that her position be eliminated. A cost saving measure.

You Watch!

There is a good reason they are not mentioning the salary. Don't be suprised to hear that it is $100,000+. Apparently we are in competition with Bell California (see the link for the article)to see whose city government can rob its residents the fastest.

Comment"What you don't notice, while snooping on your neighbors is that they also disappear for 12-14 months at a time when they go overseas to fight for your freedoms."

Lol, well this particular guy has not been gone in years and never fought anyone or anything except traffic on the rare times he does report in.(Please no phony Patriotism) I guess maybe you did not catch that I am a former military. For your info, I am retired and earned it the hard way, I worked for it.I also work a job out of my house and many time wills be gone from 8am-11pm six days a week. And by the way, this guy was not a Marine or Army that goes away for 12 to 14 months at a time. I am fully aware of what they go through.I was gone for two years. So typical of you to assume every one is on welfare. I think you must be one of the ones staying at home collecting "Government Welfare"! Get to work!

Serioiusly

Every member of this board up MS. McClone's Chain of command should retire tomorrow, And if they do not, hold them accountable ( first explain what it means) then terminate them without benefits.
What was her salary and benefits package?
