VIRGINIA BEACH

A police officer who recently pleaded guilty to inappropriate contact with minors no longer works for the department, a police spokesman confirmed Tuesday.

Ronald S. Dunn, 44, pleaded guilty to two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor last week, according to Amanda Herman, a spokeswoman for Commonwealth's Attorney Harvey Bryant's office.

He was sentenced to 12 months on each count, and that time was suspended as long as he is on good behavior for two years, Herman said.

According to court documents, Dunn helped a minor have sex with another teenager.

Dunn, a master police officer, had worked for the department since January 1990.
