Campus robbery prompts ODU safety alert

An armed robbery early Sunday morning in the center of the Old Dominion University campus prompted school officials to issue a safety alert.

According to the alert, two young men armed with a gun held up the victim at about 1:30 a.m. near England House, a dormitory in the center of campus near Webb University Center.

ODU police were canvassing the area Sunday morning, according to the alert, which also urged that people exercise caution and report suspicious activities.
