NSU to host forum for input on its next president

Posted to: Education News Norfolk

NORFOLK

Faculty, students and community members will have a chance to say what characteristics they want in Norfolk State University's next president during a forum at 6 p.m. tonight.

The event, scheduled for three hours, will be held at the L. Douglas Wilder Performing Arts Center on campus.

Sharon Hoggard, university spokeswoman, said no registration is required for the informal event. The Board of Visitors wants the campus community to know that it will play a vital role in the selection process, she said.

Former president Carolyn Meyers stepped down in June, and Kim Luckes is serving as acting president. The board hopes to name a new leader by January.

Contact the office of the president at (757) 823-8670 for more information.
