Weather: A sunny holiday, temps in the 80s

Posted to: News Weather

High pressure centered over the Mid-Atlantic region meant cooler, drier conditions for Hampton Roads this holiday weekend.

Today, it should be sunny with a high near 83 degrees and a low of 62, according to the National Weather Service. Anyone heading to the beach today should know that there is a moderate rip current risk.

By Tuesday, the winds will turn to the southwest and the temperatures will begin to climb, the Weather Service said. The high Tuesday is forecast to be 88. By Wednesday, it should be near 93.

Highs on Thursday and Friday are expected to drop back down into the low 80s.
