Took the bailout you are against

How can you profit from the auto program the government offered and then be against it? Where is the sense in that?

Last minute campaigning

I think the TV news story this morning that showed each candidates last minute campaign strategies gives us a glimpse of what we can expect if they were elected. Kenny Golden was painting campaign signs, Scott Rigell was in a conference room glad-handing with a bunch of community business leaders and Glen Nye was knocking on voters doors talking to them face to face. To me this is a telling look at the contenders. If Kenny Golden is no more prepared than having to paint signs I question how prepared he will be in office. Scott Rigell surrounding himself with a room full of businessman tells me where his loyalties will lie. Glen Nye chose to go to the people and talk to them face to face, listen to their concerns and answers questions that they wanted to ask him. I am voting for someone that is sincerely interested in my views and concerns as an average citizen living in Virginia. That person is Glen Nye.

And now

And now we see how the "TV News Story" and your testimonial turned out. I am sure it was completely unbiased and objective.

I stood in line behind a voter who declined a sample ballot, because, quote - "I watched TV last night and read the paper this morning."

It is for this reason that the adjustment this past week was not even more significant. An educated electorate will make educated choices.

Political education does not come from the media, nor blogs, and certainly not the internet; rather the responsible voter exercising their privelage in a responsible manner.

Oh, well.

My vote goes to...

Mr. Glenn Nye.

I don't need a used/new car, nor do I care if you're only credential is that you spent time in the Navy... Nye hasn't done anything wrong thus-far, why not keep him in office? Please show me an educated reason why he should leave.

Out with the old

Vote out Jim Wood and vote in Toni Hedrick. Jim Wood was the Virginia Beach representative on Hampton Roads Transit (HRT) board of directors and Chairman of the Board when HRT ran the Norfolk light rail project over budget by 45% or over $106,000,000. The previous HRTY CEO was relieved from duty, given $180,000/ year, not required to do any work and was given a goodbye check of $300,000. Two bus drivers who stole $82,000 from fare boxes were not prosecuted. Phil Schucett was hired as the new HRT CEO with a salary of over $480,000/year, plus benefits. This is more than the President of the United States makes ($400,000). HRT’s operating revenue in 2009 was only $77 million. Jim Wood voted for every tax increase placed before him. During his time on City Council, the City has given numerous contracts to selected companies, without any competition (required by state law). The first Town Center parking garage awarded to Armada Hoffler (supposedly the only company who could build it) and the $11 million animal shelter are 2 examples. Wood was a policeman (4 years) and worked for his mother’s construction firm. His campaign contributions and his votes on City Council sh

This election will change nothing

Unless the GOP is able to get SUPER MAJORITIES elected in both houses, ones that can easily overturn a Presidential veto, this election will end up meaning very little, and just show us 2 more years of gridlock.

I want Golden but am torn...

I think he IS the one who would change things for VA, BUT, I'm so torn. Due to his lack of advertising and media coverage, I'm kind of lost on some of what he stands for. I am not sure my vote is basically wasted by voting for him since he will not have a large base of people who have even heard of him! I've heard he is for "Fair Tax" *check!* me too! That is what Texas has and that way all pay taxes, across the board. I have heard so many things about him that I like and I think he is the one of the three that had the most thought thru answers! He was on point and TO the point! I have to watch tonight and see what is said about him...

This Is the Problem With Our System

I have talked to literally hundreds of people in the past few weeks that say they would vote for Golden, but they don't want to waste their vote. I guess they have swallowed the Republican propaganda pill. I don't support Golden, but if you think he is the best person for the job then vote for him.

seriously?

Rigell has run the party line so long that he actually believes he "has first-hand experience...in reducing spending in Congress." How does he have first-hand experience? HE DOES NOT PEOPLE.

On health-care, the republican, Rigell: I'd repeal the plan and "do something else." Do something ELSE. And that would be.....?? I guess he knows something - with all of that experience in health-care - that the rest of the brilliant minds in the United States of America DO NOT!

Rigell is a follower. He will follow. And, he will do nothing, absolutely nothing for Hampton Roads, the commonwealth of Virginia or for the United States of America. He's a automobile dealership owner. That's what he is! And that is where he should stay!

JUST SAY NO TO CAR SALESMEN IN CONGRESS!!!

Voters - the Truth

It is no mystery why the Democrats are targeting Mr. Golden.
You see it in the mail every day - their disparagement of Mr. Golden is intended to dilute the vote.
They are using the Independent Mr. Golden (whom I respect) as a tool to split the "undecideds" among us. They are desperate, and hoping to pull votes away from Mr. Rigell. To prevent real "change."
