VIRGINIA BEACH
A disorderly conduct charge that stemmed from a man’s encounter with a teen has been dismissed after the man complied with a treatment program, according to authorities.
Police originally charged Joseph T. Wecht, 35, of Virginia Beach, in October 2010 with taking indecent liberties with a child under 15, though he was never accused of touching the teen.
Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Court records and the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said the charge was reduced to disorderly conduct. He was referred to the Community Corrections Program, and told to return to court for a review of his case. He did that in August, and it was dismissed.
