#1 Norcom 57, #5 Maury 51

Decarlos Anderson scored 13 points and Dorian Finney-Smith added 12 as Norcom held off the Commodores in an Eastern District showdown Friday night at Maury.

The Greyhounds (2-0 overall and district) trailed 34-29 at halftime.

“We had a shot to beat them,” Maury coach Jack Baker said. “We just didn’t get it done down the stretch.”

Sim Frazier led the Commodores with 21 points, and Jamal Ferguson added 15.

The Greyhounds travel to DeMatha High School in Hyattsville, Md., today to play Gwynn Park (Md.) in the National High School Hoops Festival. Gwynn Park (1-0) is ranked fourth in the  Washington Post Metro poll.
