Destroyer Bainbridge set to deploy for 7 months

NORFOLK

The guided missile destroyer Bainbridge will deploy today to the Mediterranean Sea and the Middle East, the Navy announced.

Highlights The Bainbridge, which won headlines in 2009 for its part in the rescue of an American merchant ship captain being held by Somali pirates, will head back to Somalia to conduct maritime security operations. It will also conduct joint operations with NATO allies.
