Actress Glenn Close is speaking out about appearing briefly in one of the raunchy comedy videos made by a senior officer on a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier a few years ago.
The award-winning actress said she appeared in a video clip after a "seemingly innocent request" made during a visit to the Norfolk-based Enterprise more than four years ago.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Close called the use of her image deeply offensive and insulting.
The Navy permanently removed Capt. Owen Honors from command of the carrier Tuesday for the videos, which included anti-gay slurs and scenes of same-sex showering.
In 1995, Close appeared in a TV movie, "Serving in Silence," a true story about Army officer Margarethe Cammermeyer, who was discharged for admitting she was a lesbian.

should be an apology to Ms. Close, then one to the people of America, then to those who serve in the military.
Taking a cheap shot at an individual, who has never wronged the service, is the lowest, nay, creepiest thing he could have done.

I'm a retired sailor with 24 years of service. I wish I had an XO like him back then while on deployment. Morale would have been a lot higher. That's BULL to ruin that man's career over a video. If so, they need to punish the rear admiral that was CO at the time and the battle group commander. Captain Honors, just resign and enjoy retirement and that fat pension!!!!!!!!

Enterprise videos
Once again one man will be the scape goat. He was not the only one doing the videos. There were men and women in those videos. maybe one of them are your son or daughters. HMMMMM! The higher ups knew of this video but do you think they will be punished? Hell NO!!!! and it's obvious it's about gays and nothing more.I bet it was a gay that turned him in now that the DADT went into law. Now anything anybody says that the gays do not agree with will be punished. I guess being politically correct these days means no kidding or joking around with anything, unless you're a comic then you can say anything against anyone and say you were only joking. Why to computer drivers who launch off carrier but never get shot at think they are so special, they dont have to conform to the ethics of America. These videos put Honors in the same category as those drunken parties that the blackwater goons pulled. At least the blackwater goons actually got at.

Ms. Close is a driving force behind an organization that trains dogs to assist wounded war veterans. Some would deem that "worthy" -- and would believe that angering her by editing her volunteer shipboard appearance into a masturbation video probably was not a good idea.

don't think much editing went on, I am willing to bet she knew what she was getting into and thought it was fun...

I think the picture leads me to believe she had a general idea of the tone of the video. She's just baggin now because he's fallen out of favor and she doesn't want to be associated with him. She and the Navy really need to grow a backbone and stand up in the court of public opinion.
