Manteo meeting on offshore energy postponed until February

MANTEO, N.C.

A governor's advisory panel on offshore energy has postponed public meetings in three coastal cities this week because of potential wintry weather.

One meeting was scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday in Manteo.

Gov. Bev Perdue created the Scientific Advisory Panel on Offshore Energy in 2009 to study potential offshore energy sources, including wind, gas and oil. The panel was planning to host meetings in Manteo, Wilmington and Morehead City to gather public input.

The meetings will be rescheduled for sometime in February, according to a news release.
