The northwest winds wrapping around the back side of the major storm that slammed New England yesterday continue to blow cold air into our region.
As the storm pushes farther away from the northeast coast, local winds will ease late this afternoon and tonight. At the coast, today's winds could gust up to 25 or 30 mph. Highs today will stay in the mid- to upper-30s.
It will be very cold tonight. Skies will remain mostly clear overnight. Lows will dip into the lower 20s and into the upper teens for a few inland spots. We will have another cold day tomorrow as highs should stay in the upper 30s. After that, we will thaw out a bit.
Saturday, temperatures will get closer to normal under partly cloudy skies. Highs will be close to 45. Sunday's highs will range from the upper 40s near the beaches to lower 50s inland.
