Fashion Notes: Deeply discounted prom wear available

MacArthur Center and Fairy Godmothers of Virginia are encouraging high school girls with a financial hardship to take advantage of the gently used prom dresses, shoes, handbags and jewelry available for Prom Fair 2011.

Dresses are available for $10 and accessories for $1 to $2, depending on the item. The fair is open to juniors or seniors with a valid student ID, along with a female guest. An information card must be completed before entering the fair. Girls will then be accompanied by a personal shopper.

The fair is being held on the mall’s first level near Grand Court. The hours are 4-8 p.m. weekdays this week, and from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday. For more information, visit www.fairygodmothersofvirginia.org or call (757) 513-6734.
