Large transformers could delay traffic in Suffolk

SUFFOLK

Three transformers being moved through the downtown area this morning could cause traffic delays.

The transformers will be moved between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. from the railroad on County Street and travel south on County Street to Hunter Street and Hosier Road before reaching a substation, according to the city.

Police will escort the transformers as they are moved between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Each transformer is 18 feet tall, 80 feet long and weighs 397,000 pounds.
