New management to take over The Founders Inn

The Founders Inn and Spa is getting new management.

Regent University, which owns the hotel and spa next to its campus in Virginia Beach, has signed an agreement to hire West Paces Hotel Group. The company, based in Atlanta, is run by Horst Schulze, formerly of The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co., and describes itself as a “luxury hotel” manager.

Other properties under its management include a resort in Bali, hotels in Germany and Switzerland, and the Auburn University hotel and convention center in Alabama.

West Paces replaces Benchmark Hospitality, which has managed The Founders Inn for 13 years. The new company is expected to take over around May 1.

The Founders Inn has 240 guestrooms, hosts corporate meetings and weddings and operates a full-service spa.
