Norfolk Rite Aid holding raffle to celebrate fundraising

NORFOLK

A local Rite Aid will give away T-shirts to the first 50 customers and raffle Rite Aid gift cards and luggage this morning to celebrate customers' help in raising money to benefit children.

The Rite Aid, at 6135 E. Virginia Beach Blvd., is one of six Rite Aids around the country hosting such a celebration. The local event recognizes raising more than $350,000 for Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. Nationwide, more than $50 million has been raised by Rite Aid since 1994 for 117 Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, according to a company news release.

The local celebration will be from 10 a.m. to noon and is free and open to the public. Sawyer Morton, "a Miracle Child helped by CHKD and Rite Aid," according to the news release, will appear. Jennifer Roberts of 92.9 The Wave, Little Miss Princess Teen Virginia and Miss Chesapeake will also appear.
