VIRGINIA BEACH

A local cycling club has doubled its reward for information about a driver suspected of hitting and injuring one of its members.

Tripower Cycling Club is now offering $2,000 for information leading to an arrest in the May 3 collision with cyclist Jim Dunham on Shore Drive, according to a news release from the club.

Dunham was seriously injured in the incident, which police are investigating as felony hit-and-run. The circumstances are not clear, police said, but a witness described a possible suspect vehicle as a blue truck.

Several contributors are funding the reward, including local bike shops.

To provide information on the case, call Crime Solvers at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP (562-5887) or text "VBTIP" and the information to CRIMES (274637).

There were no new developments in the case Wednesday, police said.
