J&A Racing, which organizes popular local running events like the Shamrock Marathon, announced today it is partnering with Livestrong, the brand of the Lance Armstrong Foundation created in 1997 by the seven-time Tour de France winner and cancer survivor.
"We are excited to be the premier charitable parter for J&A Racing and their series of endurance events," Greg Lee, Livestrong chief financial officer, said in a press release.
Lee, who ran in the 2011 Shamrock for the first time, said at the time that he would attempt to bring Armstrong to the event to compete.
"We look forward to becoming more engaged in Virginia Beach, and our association with these high-profile events in the city will allow us to broaden our brand and provide our services to a wider audience of cancer survivors, supporters and their families," Lee said.
Jerry and Amy Frostick, owners of J&A, said in the statement the partnership will begin with this year's Blue Moon Wicked 10K and Monster Mile on Oct. 29.

" these guys will look silly"
Really? These guys will "look silly" for helping raise money to fight cancer? WOW, there's an idea.
There's always someone out there who is sitting on their couch, WATCHING sports on TV, acting like they are actually on their favorite sports team ("We beat the Red Sox today!" You're not on the team) eating nachos and doing nothing philanthropic who has this opinion. You can't argue with stupid.
What LIVESTRONG has done for the world of cancer research, support and encouragement has nothing to do with whether Lance Armstrong doped during his races. If I'm correct, LIVESTRONG gives the highest percentage to the cause than any other charity out there. The partnership is about supporting a charity that helps people.
Proof
Do you or anyone have tangilble evidence of his cheating? Hearsay is not evidence.

are you in egypt?
You're definitely in denial. He also used EPO regularly before it was banned - surely not against the rules at the time, but only because no one knew about it. It's still a PED.
boy, are they going to look silly
When the truth finally comes to light regarding Armstrong's well-known PED use, even in his first-ever TDF stage (it is common knowledge that he failed his first TDF dope test and his team managed to convince the event officials to toss out the test results), these guys will look silly.
LANCE ARMSTRAIGHTOUT...
At least we will now know how these folks train on using on steriod cheating and blood doping...
