MOOSIC, PA.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre right-hander Adam Warren limited the Norfolk Tides to two hits over seven innings in the Yankees' 2-0 victory Monday night at PNC Field.

Warren, who struck out eight and walked two, held the Tides hitless through 6 2/3 innings before consecutive singles by Josh Bell and Rhyne Hughes ended the no-hitter. Norfolk didn't advance a runner past second base against Warren (6-2) and Lance Pendleton, who pitched two innings of hitless relief.

Scranton scored its runs on RBI doubles by P.J. Pilittere in the second and Jordan Parraz in the fourth.

Right-hander Mitch Atkins (1-3) took the loss for the Tides. He allowed two hits and four runs in seven innings.

Yankees catcher Jesus Montero had two hits.

The teams play the second of their four-game series at 7:05 tonight.
